8-Hours, OSHA – Mandatory, 29 CFR 1910.134©(3) – The employer shall designate a Respirator Protection Program Administrator who is qualified by appropriate training or experience that is commensurate with the complexity of the program to administer or oversee the respiratory protection program and conduct the required evaluations of program effectiveness. Implementing Hospital Respiratory Protection Programs is a challenging task. A healthcare facility can have up to 200 diverse types of work activities many requiring respiratory protection. Protecting all healthcare workers from potential exposures is a critical issue for EMS, hospitals, nursing homes, hospice, and other healthcare organizations.
