2023 JHM Exercise & May Meeting
Sharing from CERT:
Aloha CERT Volunteers and Supporters! I delayed putting the notes out for May's Virtual CERT meeting so I could include video of the Kapalua Airport Disaster Exercise, which CERT Supported last month. Special thanks to Gaye Gabuat (CERT Oct 2022) for recording the exercise and editing the video!
Please be sure to check out the Kapalua Airport Disaster Exercise video below (link to source: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cmtu96y0v2qroij/2023%20JHM%20Exercise.mp4?dl=0). Also check out the May meeting video to see Everett demonstrating a head-to-toe evaluation (skip to the last half of the video). There are also a few attachments covering setting up a medical treatment arrea and head-to-toe assessments.

The Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), in coordination with the County’s Planning Department, invites you to join us for a week of community events for the West Maui Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Action Plan!
Between February 27 and March 3, we’ll host three public walking tours, a community meeting and open house, and project team office hours. More information about these activities is available below and on the project website (www.WestMauiCommunityCorridor.org).
Our walking tours will address different accessibility and mobility challenges along the Community Corridor. Each tour will cover about a mile and last 90 minutes. As we walk, we’ll discuss opportunities for better connections and safety for people walking, rolling, biking, and taking the bus around the Keawe Street and Honoapiʻilani Hwy intersection or the Pioneer Mill area (a possible location for a future transit hub). Sign up for one of these tours now at www.WestMauiCommunityCorridor.org.
Community Open House & Office Hours
The walking tours will be complemented by a community open house, “office hours” with the project team, and targeted stakeholder and technical committee design sessions. These activities will help us shape a vision for the Community Corridor and begin to develop early project and program recommendations. We hope you’ll join us for an overview of what we’ve learned so far and an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions at one of these events:
Please reach out with any questions, and visit our website for additional information about the Community Corridor. We look forward to your participation and input!
LTAC Maui Connect
COM Connect App Helps Residents Share Information with Maui County
Wailuku, Maui – The County of Maui announced the availability of a new app which will enable residents to participate in community-based reporting from their cell phones/mobile devices or web.
Powered by SeeClickFix Inc. technology, COM Connect (short for County of Maui Connect) is a place-based reporting platform which allows residents to document neighborhood concerns and improvements alike, ranging from litter and flooding to damaged sidewalks and malfunctioning traffic signals. The app is available for free through most iPhone and Android app stores and is already active.
COM Connect will allow residents also report community issues, as well as view, comment on and vote to fix problems submitted by their neighbors. Citizens can even create their own “watch areas” to receive notifications about all issues reported in their community, enabling them to follow the progress of all service requests – not just the ones they report.
Please call or contact the Office of the Mayor at (808) 270-7855 or Email Mayor's Office with any questions or concerns.
