WMTA ANNUAL MEETING
Lahaina, HI –IMPORTANT SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 9, 2018 AND THE PUBLIC IS INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND:
 
The West Maui Taxpayers Association (WMTA) will hold its Annual Members Meeting on Tuesday, January 9, 2017, at the West Maui Senior Center – 788 Pauoa Street, Lahaina.  The public is invited to this always informative event. AKAKU Community TV will tape the event for later re-broadcast.
 
Meeting will begin with Official WMTA business, including the Election of its Board of Directors.  Immediately following this short business meeting will be presentations important to the West Maui community.
 
Invited guest speakers are for the Special Presentations 2018 Annual Meeting are:

• Message from Governor’s Office
• Senator Rosalyn Baker – 6th Senate District
• Representative Angus McKelvey - 10th House District
• Mayor Alan Arakawa, County of Maui
• Elle Cochran - Council Member (West Maui), County of Maui
• Robin Shishido, Maui District Engineer, Department of Transportation, State of Hawaii
  • Jade & Robin will cover the Keawe Street Improvements and the Bypass Extension
• Kaloa Robinson, Project Manager, Stanford Carr Development, LLC,
• Carol Reimann, Director, Housing and Human Concerns, County of Maui
• Pamela Eaton, Planning Program Administrator, Long Range Division, Department of Planning, County of Maui
  
• James Buika, Coastal Zone Management Planner, Dept of Planning, County of Maui
  • James will provide a Kahana Bay Erosion Update
    
• West Maui Hospital Update

 
Last year nearly 300 attendees enjoyed the very interesting community presentations on WMTA top issues including the West Maui Hospital and Affordable Housing.
 
There is complimentary food service which will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by a short business meeting at 5:30 PM.
 
The major purpose of the meeting is to have elected officials address issues of interest to the West Maui community, and to have special presentations on major project impacting the Isolated West Maui Community as illustrated above.
