Zeke Kalua

Having served nearly 13 years in the West Maui community I have been and continue to be an advocate for many issues in the community. Being a young parent, it is very important for me to consider the legacy we leave behind for our children and in doing so take second looks at the projects we support to make sure they are not hindrances for the next generation. I am of Native Hawaiian decent and am constantly reminded of looking at needs in the community while balancing the cultural sensitivity behind the areas they are proposed.
I am well versed in the needs as the community sees them and focus on infrastructure, quality of life and economic generation in the community.
I am alumni of the graduating class of Moloka'i High School 1994. Spending most of my childhood life on Moloka'i has given me a very wide perspective when it comes to viewing economic generation vs. sustainable living. After graduating I spent several years in Washington State and returned home in September of 2000. Shortly after returning home I became involved with the WMTA and have advocated for many needs within the community. I believe in the goals of the WMTA and urge the community to join and become a part of the efforts we promote.
