The Maui News - 9/12/2019 Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino and his administration are presenting a series of community meetings this month and next month — beginning Monday — to receive public comments and suggestions on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2020-21. The fiscal year is July 1 to June 30, 2020. Community members, either as individuals or on behalf of organizations, are encouraged to attend. Both written and verbal comments will be accepted. Tables will be set up to allow directors and staff from each county department to meet, hear budget-related needs, listen to concerns and answer questions about county-related issues. The meeting will start with an overview of the current budget, followed by about an hour for attendees to submit comments. At the close, the mayor and budget director will offer a recap of issues raised. Community Development Block Grant office staff also will be on hand to offer information and gather public input on the use of the county’s funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
